As we enter the two-week wait or luteal phase after ovulation on 1 DPO, there are many things happening in our bodies. The two-week wait is a time when many women experience early signs of pregnancy.

For some women, these symptoms are very subtle and they may not even realize that they are pregnant. For others, the symptoms can be quite pronounced. In this blog post, we will discuss what is happening on day 1 of the 1st day after ovulation (DPO).

1 DPO

This post is all about 1 DPO.

1 DPO: What is Happening?

On 1 DPO, the egg that was released during ovulation is now making its way down the fallopian tube. This journey takes about three days.

Once the egg reaches the uterus, it will implant itself in the lining of the uterus. This process is known as implantation and usually happens six to twelve days after ovulation.

For some women, implantation can cause light spotting or bleeding. This is often called implantation bleeding and is one of the earliest signs of pregnancy.

In addition to implantation, on 1 DPO the body is also preparing for the possibility of pregnancy by thickening the lining of the uterus. This process is known as endometrial thickening.

The thickened lining of the uterus is known as the endometrium. The endometrium provides a supportive environment for the embryo to grow and develop.
