Pregnancy is a time of great change and growth- not just for the baby growing inside you but also for the mother herself. As you journey through these nine months, it can be helpful to study bible verses about pregnancy.

These scriptures will offer encouragement and inspiration as you face the challenges of this unique time in your life. We hope that you find strength, peace, and joy in these verses as you carry your little one!

How I Used Bible Verses in my Pregnancy Journey

I know that you may be feeling nervous right now, like I did, about the journey ahead. I want to encourage you with God’s word today.

A mother’s womb is truly blessed. It says so in the word.

And just like He guided me through my journey to motherhood, He will guide you as well.

It took us a year and a half of actively trying to get pregnant before we finally were successful. But along the way, I found encouragement through bible studies and scriptures. They gave me hope that God was guiding me on this journey, even when it was difficult.

Then, after two miscarriages, we were finally blessed with our first child, and shortly after with our second.

Now, as I write this blog post, I am currently in my third trimester with our third child. I’m a fertility coach and stay-at-home mom who is pursuing her passion of continuing to inspire women of God on this journey to and through motherhood.

I relied on Christ Jesus throughout the entire process and knew that He was in control. With these Bible verses, you can do the same.

Reasons You Need Bible Verses For Your Pregnancy Journey

As a mom with three little ones, I’ve come to realize that the journey of pregnancy can be filled with excitement, joy, and, at times, its fair share of worries.

That’s why I’ve found immense comfort in turning to the Word of our Lord God during this precious time. Here are some reasons why you, too, should consider incorporating Bible verses into your pregnancy journey:

Divine Guidance

Pregnancy can be overwhelming, but with verses like James 1:17 reminding us that every good and perfect gift comes from above, you can find peace in knowing that your journey is part of God’s divine plan.

Inner Peace

In those moments of uncertainty, Isaiah 26:3 assures us that the Lord will keep us in perfect peace when our minds are steadfast, trusting in Him.

Or Phillippians 4:7 where it states that the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts.

These words can bring much-needed calm during the ups and downs as you grow a tiny human being.

Spiritual Connection

Incorporating Bible verses can deepen your spiritual connection with your growing baby. Psalm 139 beautifully captures this, reminding us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.

In the next section, I’ll share some powerful pregnancy Bible verses that have personally resonated with me throughout my own journeys.

Bible Verses About Pregnancy For Each Trimester

Here are Bible verses about pregnancy to study each month as you carry your baby:

Month 1

Study: Psalms

“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.” Psalms 139:13-14

The book of Psalms reminds us to praise God through everything we are going through. He is the one who creates and knows us from when we were in our mother’s womb. We should praise Christ Jesus for the new journey we are about to embark on.

Month 2

Study: Jeremiah

“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; Before you were born, I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5

This bible verse is a great reminder that God has a plan for our lives, even before we are born. He knows us intimately and knows the role we will play in His kingdom.

Month 3

Study: Proverbs

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

This is my favorite scripture that I hold close to my heart, especially while pregnant. Although we don’t quite understand every symptom or change that is happening with our bodies, we know that God is directing every step.

Month 4

Study: Romans

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

During this month, you may start to feel anxious about the upcoming trimester. Remember that God has a plan, and everything will work out for good in the end.

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

We need to be careful during this time not to let our thoughts run wild with worry. We should instead take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ.

Month 6

Month 8

Study: Acts

“And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” Acts 2:4

As your due date approaches, you will need to lean on the guidance of the Holy Spirit more than ever before. If you have not yet, invite the free gift of the Holy Spirit into your life so that the spirit of God can help you in the different trials of motherhood.

Month 9

Bible Encouragement for a Healthy Pregnancy

I’ve often turned to the stories of remarkable women and families in the Bible for inspiration during my own pregnancy journeys.

These stories remind us that Jesus Christ, His blessings, and His guidance extend through generations

He offers hope and encouragement for healthy pregnancies.

One such inspiring tale is that of Sarah, who, despite her old age,

The Lord visited Sarah and miraculously conceived a child. Her story, found in Genesis 21, shows us that with faith and trust in the Lord’s plan, even the seemingly impossible can become a reality.

Another beautiful example is the story of Hannah, found in 1 Samuel 1. Her fervent prayer for a child was answered when the Lord visited Hannah, ultimately leading to the birth of the prophet Samuel.

Her journey of faith teaches us the power of heartfelt prayers and persistence.

These biblical accounts of a woman giving birth against the odds serve as a powerful reminder that the Lord’s blessings can grace our own pregnancy journeys.

These stories offer us hope and strength as we navigate the path to a healthy and joyous childbirth with the Holy Spirit.

Questions about Bible Verses For Pregnancy

How do you pray for pregnancy?

Pregnancy is a time to grow closer to God and to rely on Him for strength, wisdom, and guidance. Praying for pregnancy is as simple as any other prayer.

You just have to open up your heart to God and speak to him about your requests and concerns. Pray bible verses over your pregnancy and baby. FInd delight and joy in the Lord for new life!

What does the Bible say about praying for a baby?

There are many bible verses about prayer, but a specific Bible story I always go to is the story of Hannah. In the story, Hannah was unable to have children and was very grieved about it. She went to the temple and prayed for a son. God answered her prayer, and she had a baby boy named Samuel.

“And she made a vow, saying, “Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.”

This story is such an encouragement to me that God hears our prayers and He is faithful to answer them.

What does the Bible say about trying to conceive?

The Bible doesn’t specifically say anything about trying to conceive, but it does talk about children being a blessing from the Lord.

“Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD. The fruit of the womb is His reward.” Psalms 127:13

This verse is such a reminder that children are a gift from God and not something we can earn or achieve on our own.
