Prayer After Miscarriage

Many women experience this terrible pain every year in the United States alone. They go on with their lives, trying to cope with this great loss.

They seek help and guidance from doctors and counselors, they surround themselves with family and friends, but do they find comfort?

Do all women who suffer a miscarriage go on to heal and forget about it?

Not always. The hurt is still there, as the physical pain of the miscarriage lessens with time, but what about the heart? What about the pain of losing a child that never had a chance to live and breathe in this world?

That’s why I want to share with you some prayers to help you during your loss and pain.

Prayer for Healing After Miscarriage

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you humbly seeking healing over my fertility journey and in my body after miscarriage. I pray Lord that you give me patience as my healing takes place. Lord, heal my womb, my cycle, and my hormones to have a healthy baby in the future. Reveal to me the next steps for my healing process so that I can conceive a healthy baby and have a healthy pregnancy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer Against Future Miscarriages

Dear Heavenly Father, please hear my prayer as I come to you on behalf of my miscarriage. I pray against future miscarriage and any negative thoughts that the enemy tries to attack my mind with. Lord, allow your armor of God to shield me from the fiery darts of the evil one. Your word says in 2 Corinthians 10:5 to take captive every thought and make it obey Christ. I take every thought and surrender it to you God during this journey as I heal. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayer and Fasting for Miscarriage

Dear Heavenly Father, as I pray to you over healing my heart during miscarriage, place in me the desire to connect with you even more through fasting. Reveal to me ways that I can grow closer to you in our relationship. I pray that you will show me a fasting schedule I can use during this time to grow and overcome this trial of miscarriage. Thank you, Lord for all that you do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

How to Heal Your Heart After a Miscarriage

The majority of miscarriages occur in pregnancies less than eight weeks gestation, which means they are very early losses that often go unnoticed by anyone but the woman experiencing it.

Most miscarriages are caused by genetic or developmental problems with the embryo or fetus. Some are caused by problems with the uterine lining, cervix, or hormone problems.

In many cases, there is nothing wrong at all and it happens simply because of a random chromosomal abnormality.

In order to properly heal from a miscarriage, you should allow yourself time to mourn your loss and be patient with yourself while you go through the grieving process.

Healing takes time, and there is no set time frame for how long it will take.

Talk to Someone About Your Miscarriage

While it is common for women to experience the rollercoaster of emotions that come with a miscarriage, some women have difficulty talking about their loss or opening up to people.

Women who are feeling especially down after a miscarriage may want to consider counseling and/or joining a support group in order to talk about how they feel and connect with others who understand.

Take Time to Yourself

Even though you may want to go back to your regular routine right away after a miscarriage, it is important that you take time for yourself. Take care of your body and allow it the rest it needs by getting plenty of sleep and eating a healthy diet.

Allow yourself quiet moments when you can reflect on what has happened and pray to God.

Start a Journal

A miscarriage journal can be a way to express yourself and help you heal after your loss. You can write about how you are feeling, what is on your mind, and especially your thoughts on what God is showing you through this hard time.

This may also be a great gift for family members who want to understand what you are going through, but don’t know how to ask.

TTC After Miscarriage Tips

In order to help increase your chances of conceiving again after a miscarriage, there are some things that you can do.

Focus on Cycle Health

It is important to have a menstrual cycle that is as regular as possible. This means you should pay attention to the things that are causing irregular periods, which can include being underweight or overweight, stress, and excessive exercise.

Take Care of Your Mind and Body

Even though emotional issues may not be easy to overcome after a miscarriage, you should be aware of the things that may add to stress levels. Avoid arguments, don’t push yourself too hard, and get plenty of rest.

Watch What You Put in Your Mouth

While you shouldn’t worry about dieting while trying to conceive again after a miscarriage, it is important to watch what you eat and drink. Try not to drink too much caffeine, don’t eat junk food all the time, and make sure you are getting plenty of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, lean meats (like poultry and fish), eggs, nuts/seeds (including flax seeds), beans/legumes (like black beans or pinto beans).

Final Thoughts on Miscarriages

When you start to feel like yourself again, you may want to make the decision to try and conceive again. Some women find that their miscarriage was meant to be in order for them to deal with any health issues they were having before conceiving again.

If you are feeling healthy and ready, it is okay to start trying for another baby right away.

Though miscarriage can be a heartbreaking event, there is never just one reason why it happened.

For some women, it may help to consider what the meaning of this loss was. God gives us all different things in life and each person encounters their own set of challenges and struggles to get through them.

This could have been your trial for the year. You may have been given this trial to strengthen your trust in God and for you to grow closer to Him.

Even though it feels like a loss, see if you can find anything from the experience that can be turned into a positive or lesson learned.
