Scriptures to Pray Over Your Husband
“Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” Luke 22:42
This is a powerful prayer that Jesus prayed when he was in the Garden of Gethsemane before he was crucified. In this prayer, we see that Jesus submitted his own will to the Father’s.
As wives, we should pray that our husbands would have a heart for God and be willing to submit their will to Him. We should also pray that our husbands would be willing to bear suffering for Christ’s sake.
“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.” 2 Thessalonians 3:3
One of the main things we should pray for our husbands is protection. We should ask God to keep them safe from the evil one, both physically and spiritually. We should also pray that they would be protected from temptation and sin.
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. 1 Corinthians 10:13
As wives, we should pray that our husbands would be strong in the face of temptation. We should ask God to help them resist sin and to give them strength when they are faced with temptation.
The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16
Prayer is one of the most powerful tools we have as wives. We should pray for our husbands daily, asking God to bless them and help them grow in their faith. We should also pray for our husbands’ prayer lives, that they would be strong and effective in prayer.
The LORD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. Psalm 118:14
As wives, we should pray for our husbands to have strength both physically and emotionally. We should ask God to give them the strength they need to face the challenges of life. We should also pray that they would find their source of strength in Him alone.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians iv:13
We should pray that our husbands would have confidence in themselves. We should ask God to help them overcome their fears and to give them the courage they need to face life head on. We should also pray for them to be confident in Christ, knowing that He will never leave them or forsake them.
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
As wives, we should pray for our husbands to be good leaders both at home and in the workplace. We should ask God to give them wisdom and discernment, and to help them make decisions that are honoring to Him.
How to Be A Godly Wife
In order to be a godly wife, we need to prayerfully seek God’s guidance in our marriages. We should also study His Word and put its teachings into practice. Here are some other tips for being a godly wife:
-Be submissive to your husband. Ephesians chapter five tells us that wives should be submissive to their husbands. This doesn’t mean that we are inferior to them or that we can never disagree with them, but it does mean that we should respect and obey them as our heads.
-Respect your husband. Ephesians chapter five also tells us to “respect your husband.” This means that we should treat him with honor and esteem. We should speak kindly to him, listen attentively when he talks, and be considerate of his feelings and needs.
-Pray for your husband daily. As wives, one of the best things we can do for our husbands is to pray for them regularly. We should pray for their protection, their faithfulness, and their leadership. We should also pray that they would be blessed in every area of their lives.
-Support your husband. As wives, we should be a source of encouragement to our husbands. We should build him up, praise him when he does well, and stand by his side through thick and thin.
-Be an example to your husband. As wives, we should strive to be godly examples to our husbands. We should live lives that reflect Christ’s love and grace, and we should be quick to forgive when they sin against us.
By following these tips, we can be the godly wives that our husbands need us to be. And by praying for them daily, we can help support and encourage them in their walk with God.
