But should Christians use yoni steams? In this post, we’ll take a look at the Bible’s teaching on conception and explore whether yoni steaming is compatible with biblical principles. We’ll also consider what else you can do to boost your chances of conceiving. Let’s dive in!

What is Vaginal or Yoni Steaming?

Vaginal steaming is a multi-cultural ancient form of vaginal cleansing and healing with herb-infused steam. In this practice, women sit or squat over a seat with their bottom half exposed over a bowl or container of heated herbs for a certain amount of time.

Another term commonly used for vaginal steaming is yoni steaming (more on that in a moment).

Is IT Necessary?

Medically there are no claims that vaginal steam is necessary. Many physicians have indicated that the vagina internally is self-cleansing and therefore does not need an alternative method for cleaning.

It contains good bacteria that maintain the correct pH balance and acidity necessary to keep harmful bacteria out.

What About Yoni Steaming?

Yoni steaming, also known as vaginal steaming, is an ancient practice that involves sitting over a bowl of steaming water infused with herbs. The steam and heat is said to help to cleanse the vagina and uterus, and the herbs can provide a variety of health benefits.

Yoni steaming is also said to improve menstrual cramps, irregular periods, PMS symptoms, fertility, and sexual function. In addition, it is believed to promote detoxification, strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, and increase circulation.

While there is no scientific evidence to support these claims, many women report feeling more energetic and relaxed after a yoni steam service.

What does yoni mean?

The term Yoni originates in Hinduism, with many symbolic definitions and one symbolizing the goddess shakti of feminine power. The symbol used of a woman squatting has also been said to represent the womb and fertility (Brittanica).

Christian Perspective

Is yoni steaming consistent with biblical principles?

With all that said, I want to discuss today what the Lord revealed to me in regards to women of God. I want to put that preface in there because as the Bible states in 1 Corinthians 10:23:

“All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful. All things are lawful but not all things edify”

1 Corinthians 10:23

My podcast is Fertile Faith so I’m directly speaking to women of faith, women of God who are Christian and living for the Lord. When we talk about that in this idea of yoni steaming, is it lawful?

Are you able to do it? Yes, you have free will. You have choices that you are able to make.

But, does it edify? Does it edify God?

I want to talk about that today just really quickly and in regards to three things that the Lord revealed to me about yoni steaming. Let’s talk about discernment, conviction, and research.

Discernment

As far as discernment, like I said all things are lawful but not all things edify and when I think of discernment I think of discerning of spirits. Discerning whether something is good or something bad.

In my walk as a Christian, discernment has benn characterized as what the Holy Spirit is calling out. Holy Spirit would call me to look further and really think about what is going on in this situation.

So I take a step back from the flesh and think about it in the spiritual.

The first time I came to know about vaginal or yoni steaming is actually through my certification as a fertility doula. I’m a certified natural fertility doula that helps women in their preconception process.

But their are just some things that I don’t include in my business that I was taught in my certification. Remember as Christians we have a choice. We have a choice on who we’re going to serve and let me tell you I will serve God so I choose not to include that in what I do as a coach.

So I first came across this yoni method through my certification and while completing my certification I had to take a step out of the class because of the the conviction which I’m going to talk about next that the Holy Spirit was feeding me.

Conviction

The Holy Spirit was revealing to me during that time, as they were talking about these things in the class. I had to take a step back and say wait a minute this does not sound right.

This does not feel right in my spirit the Holy Spirit.

The Gifts of the Spirit are in 1 Corinthians 12 and one of those gifts is the discerning of spirits. There’s also a gift of healing and if you’re if you’re looking into vaginal steaming or Yoni steaming for healing. Please know that you already have a gealer and his name is God. Jesus, our Savior is a healer.

So getting back to the Holy Spirit. We have gifts of the Spirit that we can use in our walk with God. In this instance, where I was in this class learning how to become a fertility coach, learning how to help women get pregnant  and about  ovulation, our bodies and things like that, there was this spirit that was not of God when they started to talk about yoni and reiki, energies etc.

Holy Spirit was revealing a lot of things and one of those was a scripture Exodus 20:3. When it comes to Yoni steaming you know as far as Yoni being a goddess of fertility power and identity, we have to know that our identity and power comes from the Lord and we don’t need to tap into those things in order to receive power or in order to receive identity.

You are not a goddess, you are child of God.

Research

So when I was studying this and doing more research that’s the third thing: studying and research of these different topics as I felt convicted.

Exodus 20:3 says you shall have no other gods before me. With that, this practice of yoni steaming for Christians just speaks for itseld. We don’t need to put the healing of a Hindu god before the healing of our God.

The word Yoni and the practice of Yoni steaming requires the act of submitting ourselves over something else, another god.

I looked at the origin of Yoni steaming I looked at the origin of the word Yoni I looked at the practice. I just started to do my own research and what I want to encourage you today is to do your own research.

Seek God for yourself and what he’s speaking to you over the situation. What is he saying to you about Yoni steaming or vaginal steaming or any other fertility method for your journey.

NEXT STEPS

When I was on my own fertility journey I really had to seek the Lord and what he wanted me to do. In doing that, He started to just reveal things that I was putting in my body that weren’t helping me.

I wasn’t fueling my body or reproductive system properly. It was just  simple things that we just have to go to God and seek Him for what he desires for us to do. What are the next steps that he desires us to take.

Proverbs 3:5- 6 says trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding but in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path.

Yes, we don’t know it all we don’t understand it all but we have to trust and acknowledge God and what He desires to do in our lives. That’s the path that he desires us to take because He knows the plans, right.

He knows the plans that he has for me.

He knows the plans that he has for you. Before he formed you in the womb, He knew you so I want to encourage you with that today.

So if you’ve been searching yoni steam room ideas on pinterest I want to encourage you to reconsider what altar you are creating. Instead of a yoni steam bath, look to healthier alternatives both spiritually and physically.

Health Alternatives

Vaginal health is important, yes, but the things is, it doesn’t need a lot of help in the cleansing department. Our reproductive system is just that, a system. It has it’s on processes for function and that includes cleansing.

Some alternatives to consider are scheduling a spa service or a spa treatment for relaxing. You can also incorporate a healthy detoxification of eating fresh fruits and vegetables to help cleanse your body of unwanted toxins.

Conclusion

So, should Christians use discernment when it comes to fertility methods? Absolutely! If you feel a conviction through the Holy Spirit, take the time to pray about and research the practices you’re considering. Remember, just because something is popular doesn’t mean it’s right for you. As always, let God be your guide as you seek His will for your family. What are your thoughts on this topic? 1. I am so glad that God directed me to this article because I kept seeing yoni pop up on my Amazon. My husband had bought me a Yoni steam pot that came with the herbs. Before I had never did my own research about what Yoni meant, or the history behind it. I always just thought it was this way of cleaning the vaginal area. One day I just stopped using it. I ran out of the herbs and never had a desire to buy anymore. I thought about it a few times but I would forget or it wouldn’t cross my mind anymore. The thing has been sitting in my closet for a very long time. Come to think of it. I was diagnosed with PCOS later that year! This was after I had bought and been using the steam pot. The doctors told me that I couldn’t have children because my PCOS caused me to not be fertile and I had absent menstrual cycles! That’s so wild! Now that I think of it. I know it was a spirit tied to practicing the YONI STEAMING. Since my relationship has grown with God it’s just a lot of things that automatically fall off. This Yoni stuff has been sticking with me and I believe the Holy Spirit pushed me to go research about this stuff. So now I know. I have no use for this steam pot anymore. God bless you sister and keep letting God use you! I may need you when I’m ready to have a baby. I don’t know why, but at one point I thought all Doula’s didn’t believe in God because every Doula I came across did not believe in God, or was practicing a lot of ancestral practices. Or believed themselves to be goddesses of some sort. Basically a lot of witchcraft. Now that I know there are Christian Doula’s I will be wise to search for one whenever God says it’s time for me to have another baby.
