Can the Haakaa Replace Electric Pumps?
This is just one opinion of one mom (myself) who has used both for two children and is currently pregnant with a third.
For me, and this might absolutely be a controversial opinion, the haakaa can certainly replace an electric pump in the beginning stages of breastfeeding.
When breastfeeding I found the haakaa to be very convenient and easy to use, unlike my spectra pump. I absolutely despised being plugged into the wall and confined to an electric pump.
I mean, I’m a mom and I have things to do.
The haakaa allowed me the freedom to move around while still collecting the milk I needed to build up a hefty stash.

Do I NEED an electric pump if I have a Haakaa?
“I don’t think you need an electric pump if you have a Haakaa. I exclusively pumped with mine for six months and it was great.” -Erin, mother of two

Can you exclusively pump using Haakaa?
Many mothers are choosing the Haakaa pump over electric pumps, thanks to its convenience and portability. If you’re just starting out breastfeeding or pumping, the Haakaa can definitely replace an electric pump.
But remember, every mother is different – do what works best for you! It might be beneficial to grab a free electric pump through your insurance to see if it’s something that works better for you.
Can Haakaa replace a manual pump?
Some mothers find that the Haakaa can replace a manual pump – it really depends on your needs and preferences. If you’re looking for something small, portable, and easy-to-use, the Haakaa is a great option!
However, if you need something with more power or are dealing with a low milk supply, an electric pump may be a better choice.
So can the Haakaa replace electric pumps? In my opinion, yes – especially in the early stages of breastfeeding/pumping. But remember to do what works best for you and your baby!
And don’t forget to check with your insurance company to see if they offer free electric pumps.
